JC Foxy... Almost

I know everyone, especially bloggers went gaga when SM Fashion Forum announced that their shipment of Jeffrey Campbell shoes arrived a few weeks ago. I didn't pre-order anything because I was on a tight budget back then and really didn't want to splurge. But when I saw that it's already available, I headed to SM Makati to check out what's still available. Luckily, they still have the Foxys. I really like the Foxy because it's massive but still girly unlike the Lita which is massive too but very military. Tomboy-ish. They had the cheetah print, pink and black. I actually wanted the pink but they only have my size in the cheetah print. I knew I had to try it on.

I went gaga over these too. I love how tall it is and the print is so nice! The platform is a bit scary because it's around 2 inches high but who cares? It's amazing! It's disturbingly comfortable (because of the platform) and I really love thick, chunky heels so this is a winner.. but not the price tag. It's more than PHP5,000 which still bothers me. I reserved it for one day but didn't bother coming back for it because:
  1. It's too damn expensive. Ouch on my wallet.
  2. Not a practical buy because of the height? I'm 5'5 and I don't want to scare kids. HAHA.
  3. Size wise, it fits but I think I'm a half size bigger.
So to the lucky girl who got this, enjoy it. One of the best I've ever tried on.

So, did you purchase any JC pair from SM's FF? :)

Movie Review: No Strings Attached

I guess I'm a little late with atch that whicto wpost because this was shown here and abroad like early this year. I think I didn't have time to watch it before or I watched something else. Nonetheless, here's the review.

I've known Ashton Kutcher to be OA when it comes to his well, acting. He's over the top and sometimes it's a hit or miss. This time, he showed very little OA, and his acting became more realistic. I think his acting matured and that's great. Maybe he got a few tips from Demi? Teehee.

As for Natalie Portman, she's awesome though her role came unexpected. I never thought a girl like her would suddenly be Ms. Independent. The switch in their roles made it fresh and very exciting to watch. It's definitely funny and it made me tear up a bit too.

I definitely recommend this to everyone (I don't think this is R-rated, maybe PG13). It's going to make you laugh and cry at the same time. By the way, the girl from Arthur is also here. I like! She's weird in a good way. :)

I'm actually eye-ing the last one because they seem comfortable, sexy and silly at the same time. Or probably those Miu Miu sandals which are TDF.

Turning 22

I'll admit it, I was very excited to turn 22. I really don't know why but I was. I was counting the days, hours before my birthday. Maybe because there are a lot of things to be thankful for and because it's going to be a me day.

June 24 - one of the rainiest day of the month. They say that when it rains on your birthday or wedding or any occasion, it's a good sign because you'll have a lot of blessings. Well, it poured a lot and I was thankful even though it was flooding outside our house.

Since I'm kuripot because I'm still new to work, I treated my family to Max's eat all you can chicken. Haha! They all enjoyed it and we had cake afterwards. Even though it was a simple celebration, I enjoyed it because I spent it with family. The next day, the boyfriend and I met up in Makati to celebrate it. We watched a movie, ate a lot and had fun!

By the way, my brother bought a cake for me from Sweet Bella in the Fort - three kinds of chocolate in one awesome cake! Thanks Kuya! :)

Permanent Blowdry 2.0

I had my hair done yesterday at Fabio Salsa Salon over at Rockwell for my annual permanent blow dry (Yes, it was my birthday the day before - June 24). This treatment lasts me a year because I do have straight hair but not the manageable kind. It's kinda frizzy and the short hairs are curly which are both very annoying. I didn't want to have it rebonded because it's too fake for me. It's way too straight without any volume at all. Permanent blow dry is different because it still has volume but no more frizz and totally manageable.

Of course the first few weeks it would look very straight because of the chemicals but give it a while and you'll see the difference. The procedure took about 2.5 hours which is not that long considering the last time I was there it was around 3 hours.

I love my hair because it's very manageable, shiny and no frizz. My affair with long hair is back and totally loving it!

The Affordable Boat Shoes

Just recently, I started selling my shoes on ebay because it's getting too crowded in here and some of them I'm not using anymore so it's just right that I sell them online. Most of the stuff I'm selling are heels and platforms because I'm investing on flats and sandals.

Good thing my practical side (aka boyfriend) kicked in and so I went inside the Payless store and saw some boat shoes. I've always wanted one but Sebago shoes are way too expensive for a pair. They actually have three styles, one is blue (solid and stripes), red and gold. I chose the red pair because it's bright, happy and very me.

From Dexter

Only PHP1,250!

These are cotton-ish (because I'm not sure) material and not the leather material from Sebago which could explain the price point.

These are very comfortable shoes which can be dressed up (and down) in so many way. You can wear this with shorts, skirts, dresses, jeans and leggings. So well, practically, any trousers. I'm loving this pair so much that if they come up with other colors, I'm definitely buying (brights please).

Payless stores usually have new stocks weekly but the styles are very limited if you compare it with Payless abroad. Nonetheless, the price points are good and very affordable. I also love the fact that they have big sizes. Yey!

Barbie Pink

I had my nails done last night for the weekend. I wanted a happy color so I used their barbie pink color. I love it. I had my nails done at Haya Spa in Paseo de Magallanes. I love the ambiance, uber friendly staff and the prices, of course. They charge only half the price compared to other spas. Yey!

Services
They have an early bird rate which is 10AM until 6PM. They give a PHP50 discount. They are open until 11PM.

These are one of my favorite movies. No doubt. Hands-down. The only thing which I find weird is that I fell in love with Magneto and not with Professor X. Haha!

I think Mystique is weird, like psycho weird, Beast doesn't look as handsome as when he's older, I think Emma Frost's costume is very appropriate for the setting of the movie, I wish Moira MacTaggert (Rose Byrne) had a more substantial role. I wish she had powers. I love her!

I really didn't get bored with the movie and I brought it with me outside the theater. That's what I qualify as a good movie - it has to move me, one way or another. The story line is very unique and there were no weird moments though the fight scenes were not as grand and as many as I imagined. The funny bits and cameos are delightful and I love the appearance of Wolverine. Btw, watch out for Wolverine 2 next year!

Don't even try to miss this one, you'll surely miss a lot!

Hint: If you're a movie buff like me, do try and watch a movie or two a week because every week, there will be a new movie to be released. :)

Movie Review: Paul

The first time I saw the trailer for this film, I already knew I wouldn't miss this. It got even better when it got released here in the Philippines. I've never really watched sci-fi films because I think they're boring but when they were as promising and as funny as Paul, I don't mind paying for it.

Last Sunday, I got to watch this film with the BF and we both enjoyed it but I wasn't satisfied.

A great funny film for me would be something I will still be "attached" to at the end of the film. Where I could not stop myself from laughing but this just didn't do it for me. I really thought this would be nice but the plot is kinda predictable and very simple. I wouldn't watch it again even if it was free. Hmm.

What do you think? X-men First Class review, coming up!

Blog Sale..Soon!

I'll be having a small blog sale soon. I think I've been hoarding a lot of stuff lately that I have to let go of some.

Watch out for it! :)

Foundation and Concealer Brushes

I've been reading about cosmetic brushes here and there. I know it's sometimes better than finger application that's why I had to buy one but I don't want to spend a lot for a brush. As you know, one of my favorite stores is PCX in Rockwell. I really wasn't planning on buying brushes but when I saw it last week, I couldn't say no to the concealer brush because I just bought my Bobbi Brown Corrector

The SA told me that the brushes are 50% off so she encouraged me to buy the foundation brush. She also told me that they are made in Japan. They were the same quality it's just that the foundation brush is a lot bigger.

The first one I got to use is the concealer brush. It's very good, actually. The bristles are not too big so it even covered the lines better. Yey for that! I used it on both my corrector and concealer. For the price I paid, no regrets here! The size is just right and not too stiff. The packaging is cheap though, not even a pouch or tube. Just regular plastic.

Packaging - yuck.

Original Price - Discounted at PHP140.
I couldn't say the same for the foundation brush. For me it felt kulang (incomplete). Meaning, there weren't enough bristles. Though it's soft, I don't feel like it transfers the product well on my skin. I'd rather use my fingers to apply my foundation. Sad, I know.

Foundation brush

Got this for only PHP300!

Other than those really expensive brushes, what are your favorites?

Long and Straight or Bangs?

I've been wanting to cut my hair just because I'm bored with it. My brother told me not to cut it because it still looks good on me. So, my solution to that is always bangs. Should I or should I not?

Thoughts please?
