Review: YSL Matt Touch Primer & Guerlain Lipstick

The day after I bought my YSL Matt Touch Primer, I was so excited to use it because I will be out the whole day, with the BF, and I hopefully will not have the problem of being oily since the primer is a matt primer. This is the last stock they have and I got it for only PHP900 while at retail price, it would cost around PHP2500. I checked online and it's being sold at $45 which is around PHP1800. Shipping and other costs would sum up to around PHP2500. Wild guess.

I was actually quite skeptical about buying this because there was no tester or sample. The sales lady said that this is very nice and it's already her last piece. I knew I had to get it. Maybe it was meant for me. (FYI: for a long time, I was the only one at the counter.)

According to YSL:
A triple-action primer that does it all; smoothes skin’s texture, brightens the complexion and delivers a flawless, matte finish for lasting makeup wear. The velvety formula is created with unique Spherical Micro-powders that help control oil, while radiance-boosting pigments hide imperfections and brighten shadowy areas. The result: porcelain-perfect skin with a comfortable matte look and feel that lasts all day. Foundation smoothes on evenly and effortlessly, and won’t fade by five. Perfect for touch-ups any time of day. For all skin types.
I'm really glad I got this primer because believe me, they know matt. Upon touching the formula, it turns into like a power texture. It's weird. I haven't had anything like it. The first time I applied it on my face, I was thinking, where did the product go? Because it's so smooth that it instantly dissolves on your face. At first, you wont notice that it's a matte primer because of the additional layers you'll put on like the foundation, concealer, blush, etc. However, after a few minutes, you'll see the difference - especially when all the layers are incorporated. It's like everything is smooth and no there is no sign of caking. I do have dry spots on my face but those become minimized. The make-up lasts longer too and the glow from a matt primer is amazing. Better than my BB cream. LOVE IT.

The product
Bare face
I also bought a lipstick from Guerlain - it's from the Kiss Kiss Strass line, 363 Rose de Reine.
As you can see, it's a crystal shine shimmering color. In short, it's glittery and sheer. There's just a hint of color. It's more like a gloss finish to me which I'm not really a fan of. I should have known better. Of course, I couldn't try the color because they didn't have a tester. :|

The packaging, however, is quite spectacular. The gold tube which looks like bricks has a very luxurious feel. One word - elegant.

The effect - it's like a shiny balm

Haul from Citibank Sale/Bazaar

When I went to the Citibank Bazaar last weekend at the NBC Tent, I was so focused on shopping for clothes and shoes because Dorothy Perkins, Topshop, Warehouse and Trucco was on sale. Like up to 70% off. I was so disappointed because all I got from that sale is only one top which I will show you soon. What interested me more is the cosmetics. The brands were Guerlain, YSL and Shiseido. There were also a couple of perfumes but I really didn't focus on those because I still have my Lanvin bottle to finish. Of course, I couldn't pass up on super affordable high-end cosmetics. I got 3 items from Guerlain and 2 from YSL.

American Apparel Leather Pouch

Was browsing through American Apparel website when I saw this bag. It doesn't look like your ordinary bag and I really didn't like it at first. I thought it was too simple and ordinary. But after a while, I couldn't shut down the idea of letting that bag go. I felt like I had to have it. Drool. My Aunt from the States is coming home next week but I'm shy to ask her to buy it for me since she already bought an iPad2 for me. She was in line for the iPad2 and she lines up at 2 in the morning. KAKAHIYA.

Anyway, I'm thinking of having it shipped here through Johnny Air. Since I don't want to use my extension credit card, I might use Johnny Air's credit card but there will be a $25 additional charge. What to do? I need to save up because I don't think I'll be settling for just one.

Disappointed with Sucker Punch

Yesterday, Ben and I went to Greenbelt to watch Sucker Punch. We actually couldn't decide if we wanted to watch that or Limitless because both seemed promising. We got the 6:30PM showing and had to wait a while for the screening.

If you've watched 300 and Watchmen, the graphics is very 300 but the story and movie progression is very Watchmen. The thing is, I enjoyed 300 but hated Watchmen.

The story line is unique but bordering weird for me. I did not enjoy it. I only liked the start but through the middle and the end, it was already too stressful and quite predictable.

I'm not saying don't watch this movie - just don't expect a lot from it.

New Tennis Shoes from Nike

My five-year old tennis shoes smiled last month and since I don't really fond of sporty shoes, I don't have a spare. I checked out Nike and Adidas stores since they're the most popular. Nike only had 2 styles of tennis shoes while Adidas had more but were too expensive and the no size also. So here are the two styles from Nike which I had to choose from.

This pair might look like a very masculine shoe if you remove the pink detail but actually, when you wear it with a full tennis outfit, it actually doesn't look very masculine. It's actually very nice to look at because all colors are subdued except for the pink details. This is priced at PHP4,995 but are on sale at Nike Glorietta at PHP4,495.

This pair is around PHP1000 cheaper than the first one but the design is very very similar to my broken pair. It's like I didn't buy a new one and the design is too simple.

So I chose the first one and on the same night, I played tennis with it. Of course, new shoes are still a bit stiff and fitted so the first few minutes were a bit awkward on my feet but after some time, I got used to it. This pair is also very light.

While Boyfie was taking pictures of my shoes, of course he has to take a picture of his new pair which was given to him by a friend.

I actually like the other running shoes from Nike, too bad I can't use them for tennis. I wish both Nike and Adidas could come up with more choices for their tennis shoes.

Kobe 6 Does Color Blocking

No, I don't play basketball but my brother does. We actually went to three malls yesterday just to look for these Kobe 6 shoes. He didn't want this color because he said it's too bright but I noticed how this pair was so on-trend. Color Blocking. Since I'm going out later, I;m thinking of an outfit using color blocking. Oh, help me. Hehe :)

Shirt of the Day!

Had a super date yesterday with the BF. We met at around 6 so that would be night time so instead of wearing something happy, bright or floral, i opted to go black. I didn't want to wear a dress because we're just going to watch a movie and hang out so I opted to wear this top I recently got from Zara. I love that it's sheer and so thin though I had to wear something underneath it. I really wanted to get the cream version of this one but I want to look slimmer so I went for black. Not bad. My problem with Zara is it's too pricey. For a simple shirt or top, it would cost you about twice compared to other local stores or from department stores but the quality is the same. Oh well.

Can't wear heels for the meantime because my ankles are in pain! Something like a sprained ankle - I'll have it checked tomorrow so wish me luck!

Shoes for Sale

How crazy sexy are these shoes? I swear, I love staring at it which is why I had to buy it. However, this is one of those things I regret because they're a size too small for me. These are brand new, they never left my room and I just wear them to take pictures.

The Oscars - The Best and The Worst

My two cents.

WARNING: PHOTO HEAVY

THE BEST

Cate Blanchett: She is my favorite. Not everyone would say the same because the squared sleeves is not something everyone appreciates. The color combination and the ethereal feel to this is just wonderful. I. LOVE. The back detail is also fabulous.

The very pregnant Natalie Portman: She is so pretty. Her choice of wardrobe lately is fantastic. She wears them beautifully even though she's pregnant. She knows how to carry herself. The earrings are also cute!
The cutie Hailee Steinfeld: Her Marchesa outfit is age appropriate and very in trend. Cutie!
The showstopper Camila Alves: This ball gown is just TDF. The accessories and the hairdo is just perfect.
The sexy Jennifer Lawrence: She just transformed so much. She definitely belongs in the red carpet. Baywatch meets Red Carpet.
The stunning Eva Mendez: She wore this to the after party. Surprisingly, even if the top looks like it belongs elsewhere, she pulled it off and the textures are so nice to look at.
Funky Rosie Huntington: The dress compliments her skin well and don't forget the shoes!

Where's Bieber? I guess you all know that Gomez and Bieber are a couple now - don't really care. HAHA. But I love Selena's dress. Perfect color and cut. Lovely. I'm just not so sure if it's age appropriate. As for Taylor Swift, gorgeous as always!

THE WORST

Nicole Kidman: The is so 1990s. Not happy with the shoes.
 Melissa Leo: Doily much?
Naomi Watts: She looks all over the place and the dress is definitely not flattering. The feathers are annoying, no?
Deborra-Lee Furness: When you're married to Hugh Jackman, I think you ought to dress better. :(
Marissa Tomei: Unlike Nicole Kidman, this is so 2000. Hehe.
Jennifer Hudon: Her weight loss is just amazing. She looks so good and glowing. However, the upper part of her dress is a disaster. Her boobs look too high and the cleavage is just weird. I can't really put my finger on it but it looks off.
 Diba?
Amy Adams: Though she's wearing wow jewelry, the dress is too simple for the Oscars. The sleeves, the neckline - too boring for me.
Lea Michele: I just don't like it.
Zoe Saldana: The pink details are annoying. The shoes are death.

Of course, Anne Hathaway needs her own section.

I've arranged this from my favorite dress down to my least favorite.
