YSL Rouge Pure Shine Sheer Lipstick in Beige Celeste/Heavenly Beige

Here's another lipstick review - one of the lipsticks I got from the Citibank Sale last month. This is my first ever YSL lipstick and I'm not that happy about it. I usually go for very pigmented lipsticks, sometimes with a little shine but I actually prefer matte but not the drying ones. When I saw this at the counter, I thought it's going to be very pigmented AND shiny but it turned out to be just shiny.

The shade I got is Beige Celeste/Heavenly Nude from their Rouge Pure Shine Sheer Lipstick collection. I should have read the box first. I actually just based it from the color of the tube and the product itself because there were no testers. Tsk tsk.

Beautiful, beautiful packaging

This lipstick is like a lipgloss in a lipstick.

Have you ever tried YSL lipsticks?

Review: YSL Matt Touch Primer & Guerlain Lipstick

The day after I bought my YSL Matt Touch Primer, I was so excited to use it because I will be out the whole day, with the BF, and I hopefully will not have the problem of being oily since the primer is a matt primer. This is the last stock they have and I got it for only PHP900 while at retail price, it would cost around PHP2500. I checked online and it's being sold at $45 which is around PHP1800. Shipping and other costs would sum up to around PHP2500. Wild guess.

I was actually quite skeptical about buying this because there was no tester or sample. The sales lady said that this is very nice and it's already her last piece. I knew I had to get it. Maybe it was meant for me. (FYI: for a long time, I was the only one at the counter.)

According to YSL:
A triple-action primer that does it all; smoothes skin’s texture, brightens the complexion and delivers a flawless, matte finish for lasting makeup wear. The velvety formula is created with unique Spherical Micro-powders that help control oil, while radiance-boosting pigments hide imperfections and brighten shadowy areas. The result: porcelain-perfect skin with a comfortable matte look and feel that lasts all day. Foundation smoothes on evenly and effortlessly, and won’t fade by five. Perfect for touch-ups any time of day. For all skin types.
I'm really glad I got this primer because believe me, they know matt. Upon touching the formula, it turns into like a power texture. It's weird. I haven't had anything like it. The first time I applied it on my face, I was thinking, where did the product go? Because it's so smooth that it instantly dissolves on your face. At first, you wont notice that it's a matte primer because of the additional layers you'll put on like the foundation, concealer, blush, etc. However, after a few minutes, you'll see the difference - especially when all the layers are incorporated. It's like everything is smooth and no there is no sign of caking. I do have dry spots on my face but those become minimized. The make-up lasts longer too and the glow from a matt primer is amazing. Better than my BB cream. LOVE IT.

The product
Bare face
I also bought a lipstick from Guerlain - it's from the Kiss Kiss Strass line, 363 Rose de Reine.
As you can see, it's a crystal shine shimmering color. In short, it's glittery and sheer. There's just a hint of color. It's more like a gloss finish to me which I'm not really a fan of. I should have known better. Of course, I couldn't try the color because they didn't have a tester. :|

The packaging, however, is quite spectacular. The gold tube which looks like bricks has a very luxurious feel. One word - elegant.

The effect - it's like a shiny balm

What do you think?

Haul from Citibank Sale/Bazaar

When I went to the Citibank Bazaar last weekend at the NBC Tent, I was so focused on shopping for clothes and shoes because Dorothy Perkins, Topshop, Warehouse and Trucco was on sale. Like up to 70% off. I was so disappointed because all I got from that sale is only one top which I will show you soon. What interested me more is the cosmetics. The brands were Guerlain, YSL and Shiseido. There were also a couple of perfumes but I really didn't focus on those because I still have my Lanvin bottle to finish. Of course, I couldn't pass up on super affordable high-end cosmetics. I got 3 items from Guerlain and 2 from YSL.

Everyday Eye Makeup

Beware, this is quite a long post.

YSL Long Lasting Eye Pencil #10

Swatch for YSL Eye Pencil
Bare face, only with the pencil

This is the #10 YSL Long Lasting Eye Pencil. I actually have a back up for this because I really really love this one. It's in a silver color, best for night wear. It's shiny but not glittery which I adore! This is best to mix with other colors especially for a smoky effect.

Chanel Le Crayon Yeux in Noir Black

YSL vs. Chanel
Chanel and YSL

These are my top two favorites for eye pencils. I love black because it's a good base to mix with all other colors. For the silver/gray YSL, I love it because it's dark but not really. :) Sometimes, I actually use the YSL for daytime because it's not as heavy or dark as the black Chanel.

Btw, both comes in a box with sharpeners.

The Face Shop Shimmer Liner Pencil in Purple and Dark Blue
Swatches of the two plus YSL and Chanel
Dark blue (Looks almost black but in person, it's really dark blue)
In purple
Purple and Dark Blue

What I like about it:
  1. Face Shop liners are very easy to put on, slides really well
  2. Doesn't clot easily like other liners
  3. Easy to sharpen
  4. Really like the colors
  5. No glitter/shimmer
  6. Great by itself
  7. Somewhat waterproof
What I don't like about it:
  1. Texture is thick
Bobbi Brown

BB's Creamy Eye Pencil in Walnut 1
What I like about it:
  1. True brown color
  2. Comes with the corrector at the other end
What I don't like about it:
  1. It really is a pencil so when the "woody" part touches your skin, it actually hurts
  2. It's hard to sharpen
  3. When you apply it, it's actually too light so you have to apply a few more times

Guerlain Maxi Lash Mascara in Wonder Brown 33
Actually, I'm about to throw this away since this is kinda dry already. Bye bye Guerlain!

Clinique Eye Defining Liquid Liner in in 03 Dark Brown
This is actually the best liner I've ever tried. I remember when I was trying to look for a liquid liner, I tried this one, MAC and other ones. I didn't like the MAC because it was too thick. Was supposed to buy one from Bobbi Brown but they only have gel liners. I wanted a portable one so I got this one. I actually wanted to buy it in black but it looked to heavy that's why I bought it in brown. Will get another one of these when I get the chance! Another thing I like about this is it doesn't dry up easily while still in the can.

So that's what's in my beauty loot which I bring with me everyday!

YSL Long-Lasting Whitening Powder Foundation #4

Used side of sponge
Unused side of sponge with the foundation
Back label
This is one of two powders I use. I like this because it's compact and also refillable. I haven't tried to refill it since I haven't finished my first pack yet. The color of this powder is perfect on my face. I bought this in Rustan's cosmetics section and asked the sales lady to help me choose the best color for me. This was on sale, by the way! I wouldn't even know it if I didn't approach the lady.

What I like about this:
  1. It's definitely not cakey
  2. It's light and doesn't make you look too white
  3. Sponge included is soft and not harsh on skin
  4. Refillable
What I don't like about this:
  1. Too expensive for its regular price
First time I got this, I didn't waste time! I took it out of the box immediately, tried to use it on my fave and the results were amazing. I would buy this again!
