This is Why Globe Sucks Even More

I haven't updated anything about the current status of my plan with Globe because I've been busy. So did I get the phone? Read to know.

My last update was July 20 when they said that they're going to give me the phone by Friday, July 23. It's already July 30 and I still don't have the phone. Someone from the rewards department called me again and clarified some details regarding my plan. I really don't mind when they will be upgrading my line because I thought I'll be getting the phone in a few days time, so that would be okay. I think it was on a Thursday when she told me details about my plan again. That was the 22st. I asked if the phone will be scheduled to be delivered the following day. They said there was a problem regarding the processing of the application that why it has been delayed.

WHAT THE? Nobody told me that there was a problem with the processing of my application to upgrade my phone. I even had to ask her if it will be delivered. I got really pissed but because she was able to talk to me properly, I agreed to get the phone by Tuesday next week. That would be the 27th, I think. After a few minutes, I realized that it would be unfair if they changed my plan when I still don't have the phone, right? So I called the Globe hotline and told them about my situation.

July 28 came and she called me up again. She said that there was a problem with my plan because they had some kind of technical difficulties. So I asked if I am still enrolled to my old plan which is My Super Plan where I pay 1800 monthly or to the new plan where I am supposed to pay 2500 monthly. I still can't believe it when she said that I HAVE NO PLAN. Imagine that. I've been juggling between two plans, guessing if my plan is the old one or the new one and it turns out that I have no plan. Amazing. And to top that, when I use Globe's services during the duration that I am without a plan, that would be charged ON TOP OF MY BILL. I was dumbfounded. I told them that they had to do something about it because the technicalities that they are dealing with isn't my problem. If they would charge that on top of my bill, that would be outrageous. She called me back after that and told me that I would have to monitor my bill and if I would like to have it removed from what I'm supposed to pay at the end of the month, I would have to consult it with them. Sosyal kayo ha. Ako pa nahirapan.

But before that, I asked again when I could get the phone. She told me that due to the errors and whatnot that they have been faced with, my phone was scheduled to be delivered on August 2. At that point, I wanted to cry. Well, not really. I was just so mad. I told her that the last day I could wait for the phone would be on Friday. Last na talaga yun. I told her that it has been two weeks or more that I have been trying to fight for this phone and it seems that no one from Globe cares. So I tried my best to convey to her about my experience from Globe. She told me that she would have to ask for approval and that she would call me back.

After a few hours, she called and told me that my request for Friday delivery was approved. I was happy. There was confirmation. CONFIRMED. YEY. So today is Friday. I've been waiting in my mom's room who has the best view of the gate in case the courier or someone from Globe will be arriving. It's already 9:08 and still, nothing. I called Globe three times today to ask for feedback regarding the delivery of my phone. Three times. They all apologized and said that they'll be reporting my situation to their supervisors who will email the department who handles these situations. THREE TIMES.

I know I'm not the only Globe customer who calls them and wants a fast feedback. I've tried their hotline and also their online assistance (Chat Assist) but nothing happens. I haven't gotten an e-mail from Globe, no phone call, no nothing.

To Globe: don't you want me to upgrade my plan? Don't you want me to get the phone? If I were Globe, I would take care of my clients, especially me, because I'm a prompt payer and you've never had a problem with me regarding payment for SEVEN years and this is what you do to me? I am seriously considering cutting line or at least voiding the upgrade. You do not deserve PHP2500 from me per month. Seriously. You should even be thankful that I've been this patient with you for almost three weeks. Actually, I don't really remember all the dates that I've called Globe but this is as far as I can remember. I wasn't even given any sort of compensation for the damages or trouble you've caused me. I have no idea why it takes this long to process my application. I thought you were the best service provider even if you also charge at a much higher rate. I got my eyes opened and no action will be made, I'm terminating my account, PERMANENTLY.

Let me end by re-quoting my tweet:
"Globe, I think its time to stop expecting form you because for the past 2 weeks, you've been a failure. Thanks for the service but my patience ends here. Goodbye."

Movie List: Soul Kitchen

I haven't seen a movie/trailer as interesting, moving and as funny as this one. As you can see in the trailer, it's not your ordinary cooking/culinary/food movie. It's a mixture of comedy, life, love, inspiration, friendship, and family.

So I really don't know the actors since I believe this is a foreign film. So, I really can't give my opinion on that. I can, however, indulge you to watch this film when it comes out because it looks like a promising film where when you leave the cinema, there's going to be a smile on your face.

Movie List: Sucker Punch

Have you heard of the latest girl power movie? Well, here it is. Sucker Punch.

The main character is no, not Vanessa Hudgens. It's Emily Browning from hmm, I really don't know. I guess she starred in films I didn't watch. Anyway, Blondie is Vanessa Hudgens who is of course from the High School Musical. Next is Sweet Pea who is played by Abbie Cornish. She has starred in A Good Year. She had a small role as someone's daughter. I really can't remember. Next is Rocket. She's played by Jena Malone who has starred in a couple of movies but she's not that memorable if you ask me. Amber is played by Jamie Chung. She just recently played Chi Chi in Dragonball: Evolution. I just checked imdb.com and it looks like Dragonball will have a part 2. Lastly, we have Carla Gugino who will be playing Madame Gorski. We've already seen her in Race to Witch Mountain where she played the love interest of The Rock.

So I'm not really excited about the cast of this movie but the story seems nice as well as the effects. It's directed by Zack Snyder who also directed Watchmen and 300. As you can see in the posters and trailer, it gives off the same "darkness" and "gloominess" as in 300 and Watchmen. I won't be expecting a lot from this movie but I might give it a try because of the effects and the story line.

Music: Katy Perry's Teenage Dream

This isn't really a secret. I. HAVE. THIS. OBSESSION. WITH. KATY. PERRY.

When I found out that she has released a new song from BryanBoy, I didn't think twice about listening to it. I love Katy Perry. Although California Girls' video was shockingly bad, this one is definitely sweet and pretty. Lots of love for this video and song.

Watch it, watch it, watch it! Btw, I love Katy's long hair. I really wish she grows it out. Yipee!

Who else is as addicted to her as I am?

Movie Review: The Last Airbender

I got to watch the movie with my parents. My mom and I came in late for the movie because we shopped first. Too bad. I think we missed the important part of the movie where the granny was telling the kids the story of the Avatar.

Anyway, what I think of the movie is that there is not a lot to get from the movie. The actors were bad, super bad. Not enough emotion, it's like these kids are still "in training", especially the Avatar. It's obvious that he's been trained for this, even got his head shaved and all but there was still something lacking about him. Maybe experience? I don't really know. Even the water bender. I forgot her name but she wasn't that remarkable. It's a shame that this was made like a low budget film. The story is pretty nice but I wish it was made more classier and with better effects. It's obvious that the effects weren't as nice as Inception, Iron Man or all those fictional movies. Even Eclipse's wolves are better looking compared to the animal the Avatar rode on.

Cast: Noah Ringer as Aang (the Avatar), Dev Patel as the Fire Prince, Nicola Peltz as Katara, Twilight's Jackson Rathbone as Sokka.

Before I forget, I hope part 2 gets better. (Yes, there will probably be a part 2.)

There is actually one good thing that happened because of this movie. I'm now curious to watch the cartoon version. I really don't like cartoons, only those on television, since I'm a fan of animated films, but this might be the first one I end up liking.

Make-up Storage @ Home

I promsied ProjectVanity that I would show her how I store my make-up. So here's a picture of my make up. I got the white soft boxes from Dimensione. One pack comes with four soft boxes, you'll see in the pictures later.
Here, I store all my lipsticks along with my liners and foundation. Sometimes, I usually take my foundations or tinted moisturizer with me whenever I do my make-up in the car or wherever. These are all the lipsticks/lipglosses that I have. Some are from Revlon, NYX, MAC, The Face Shop and Clinique. I also use Nivea's lip balm. That Paul & Joe lipstick-looking tube is actually an eye primer. I just put it there because its the same size as my lipsticks.
I used the bigger box for all my face and eye makeup and most of my palettes. This consists of eye palettes and lip palettes. It's easier to see them this way because I can just get them outright without having to dig for them. That's why the palettes are upright, not lying down. Here's how they look like. The two other boxes are full of perfumes, nail polish, etc. So, what do I usually store in my make-up kit which I usually bring with me everyday? Of course, my blush from Chanel, my pressed powder from YSL, a lipstick, a gloss and sometimes my foundation from Revlon. There are also instances where I bring some pencils. It really depends on my make-up for the day.

Movie List: Stone

Here's an unexpected film from Robert DeNiro, Edward Norton and Milla Jovovich. Robert DeNiro plays a parole officer who's determining whether Norton should be freed from his sentence. Being so obsessed on leaving the jail, Norton asks Jovovich to help him by manipulating and black-mailing DeNiro but then things got complicated. Love affairs happen, lies, sex and turning back on each other.

Here's the trailer! Imagine Edward Norton, braids and an accent. HAHA.

Movie List: The Company Men

Ben Affleck, Kevin Costner, Tommy Lee Jones, Chris Cooper. I think that is more than enough reason why we should all go see this movie. They are all Academy Award Winners in their own right.

The story is about one of the lead actors losing their job because of the recession. The story revolves on how they were very successful in the past, how they got fired, how they dealt with it and how they have come to accept and do something about it. This is very fitting because I know some people who got affected from the recession are still suffering. Here's an uplifting movie where we could all learn a trick or two.

No posters available yet. Here's the must-watch trailer, believe me, you have to.

Movie List: Buried

This is a super late post. I should be sleeping by now because I have stuff to do tomorrow. I've already taken out my contact lens so please bear with me.

Just saw the new trailer of Buried. The first one was a bit vague and I really can't figure it out. This one gives us a bit of story background and it also makes me more excited. I can't wait for this one. I know Ryan Reynolds is more of a comedy guy but I think he's going to be good on this one.

NYX Round Lipsticks Swatches

So I finally gave in to the NYX Round Lipsticks. I got Fig, Femme and Spellbound. I got my loot from GetSophisticated. Compared to other suppliers, as of this week, she has the most stock of colors although the nudes are already out of stock. I think she'll have new stocks by mid-August. Anyway, here are the swatches and some pictures:
Skin swatch
Femme on my lips
Fig on my lips
Spell Bound on my lips

So far, my favorite is Fig. It's definitely MLBB. I could use this everyday, not get tired of the color and also not be too attention grabbing. I can't wait for my next NYX haul! Most probably next week I'll get three more!

Pros
  • Creamiest lipstick I've tried, even creamier than MAC!
  • Cheap, cheap, cheap
  • Even though it's cheap, it can deliver!
  • So many colors to choose from!
  • Moisturizing, no doubt. It doesn't dry my lips compared to the Revlon ColorBurst
  • In a way, it's hard to take out
Cons
  • It doesn't stay that long on my lips
  • Not available in the Philippines
Overall, I will definitely buy more colors! I can't wait.

What do you think?

Globe Gives Feedback

Edit: looks like Globe got to read this or someone updated them. Someone from Globe Shang called me and said that it's already approved. Yey for me! Will get the phone by Friday. Still, it doesn't change the fact that they have to change their system because there are still some representatives that aren't fully aware of what they are saying. What's happening to you Globe? Time to wakey wakey.

Will update you if I got my phone!

Why Globe Telecom Sucks Big Time

Just for reference, I've been with globe for more than 7 years.

Have you heard the new promo from Globe where you can get the new Samsung Galaxy S i9000? Here's one of the reviews where the promo was also mentioned.

"They offer the Samsung Galaxy S exclusively until end of the month and you can get it free on Plan 2499 (til July 31), after that, you’ll only get it free on Plan 3799. Prepaid kit is Php32k."

So, I immediately called Globe to verify if this is true. True enough, they have the promo but they said that it's only available for new subscribers. Since my 2-year contract with Globe already expired, I asked if I could just upgrade my account to the same plan to avail of the phone. The representative from Globe kept on saying that he can't do anything about it since that is the only possible way to get the phone. I asked him that if I cut my line now, will I be able to get the phone if I apply for a new line. The guy said that I can. I just found it illogical. They'll make me cut my line, apply for a new one and get the phone? WHAT? You just want me to change my number? How irrational.

To Globe subscribers: don't you think that's unfair for those who have been with Globe for 7 years already? I've been religiously paying monthly bills for 7 years and now, it seems that they are putting more importance to new subscribers compared to the old ones? 7 years. That's 84 months, 84 bills sent to my billing address, 84 times I have paid bills and now they won't let me upgrade my plan to get the phone? This is so ironic. I'm already UPGRADING my plan to get the phone and they still won't let me? I got infuriated because I am already willing to increase my monthly bill to 2499 from 1800 and they still won't give me the phone?

Anyway, I went to Shang last Saturday to actually watch a movie but that didn't push through because of time constraints. So, I decided to try my luck again and go to the Globe center in Shang. I got to talk to a sales representative. I told him about my plan to upgrade and he told me that the best thing that he could do is to endorse my account to the rewards/loyalty department. That sounded fair, maybe they could make an exception. It was a Saturday and he told me to wait up to 3 working days for a call from the rewards department.

Monday came and I called Globe for a follow up, maybe they have answers already. After maybe 2 or 3 hours, someone from the rewards department called me and said that it is already approved that I can upgrade my plan to their new My Fully Loaded Plan 2499 and to get the free phone. However, they still need my mom's approval since my mom is the account holder. So, I told her to call me by 5pm so I could go to my mom's office. 5PM came and there was no call. So, I again called the hotline to ask if maybe the sales representatives from the hotline could process it instead of the lady I got to talk to from the rewards department. They said yes as they are fully capable of handling such changes.

So, my mom came home around 10-11PM and I called Globe again. I got pretty excited because I will be able to finalize all the requirements needed for the promo and I could get it after three working days (that would be this Thursday). This is where the major problem begins.

I got to talk to the lady who was supposed to help me with my plan. I explained to her my arrangement with the rewards department but she kept on saying that I could only get the Samsung i900. Hello? Where the hell did that come from? Who said anything about i900? I kept repeating to her that I am not after the rewards since I got out of my 2-year contract. I am after the upgrade so I could get the Samsung i9000 Galaxy S. We kept going on for around 15 minutes and she kept on saying that she understands but the only handset available that I could get is the Samsung i900. I wanted to throw my Blackberry because I am already frustrated with Globe. First, they tell me that I can't get the phone. Then they'll tell me that its for approval. Then, they said they'll approve. Then, it's not available? It's amazing how well organized they are.

It doesn't end there.

I got to calm myself after maybe 15 minutes. I called again and hopefully some other service representative from Globe could understand me. So, after a few explanations, he got it. He was able to retrieve the conversation between me and the lady from the rewards department. So I though everything was set. I was about to hand my mom the phone when he said that they are NOT AUTHORIZED TO MAKE CHANGES REGARDING THIS AND THAT SOMEONE FROM THE REWARDS DEPARTMENT HAS TO CALL ME WITHIN 3 DAYS. Are you f-in kidding me? So since it was late and I had class the next day, I let it go.

The next day, my class ended around 1. On my way home, I called Globe again, which by the way takes forever to answer, and got to talk to a sales representative. He also got confused with the lock-up reward Samsung i900 and the plan upgrade so I could get the Samsung i9000. After a gruesome tedious explanation of my situation once again, he got it and again reconfirmed that I just have to call the hotline and that they are AGAIN, fully capable of processing the change with my plan.

On my way to my mom's office, my brother called me up and told me that I have to pick up my nephew because it's already 3PM. So, I just asked my brother to call Globe since he is with my mom so it could already be processes and so I could also get the new phone by Friday. My brother got to call Globe, he gave them the reference number I gave him and they told my brother that WE HAVE TO WAIT FOR THE CALL FROM THE REWARDS DEPARTMENT WITHIN 3-5 WORKING DAYS. Are you f-in kidding me, AGAIN?

So, I called Globe, again. They now transferred me to the loyalty group, which is apparently different from the rewards group. They are now telling me that the handset is still subject to availability. WHAT? YOU HAVE A NEW PROMO AND THERE IS NO AVAILABLE HANDSET? Now, I just want to cry. They also told me to wait for the call from the rewards department. I told the guy that I cannot wait any longer. I'm not being a brat here, I just think I've spent too much time explaining myself over and over again and what do I get? NOTHING. I told him that I want the rewards group to call me before 6PM because that's when they get off at work. He said that he can't promise me that since he would still have to forward it. So what he did is he shortened the waiting period to 24 hours. I still think it's a bit too much but what can I do?

Now, I'm still waiting for the call from the rewards group.

The ultimatum: no phone by Friday, bye bye Globe. I think other networks are more than willing to accept a prompt payer like myself, right?

Revlon PhotoReady Foundation

I got mine from PCX in Rockwell. It's SRP is 900+, I just can't remember exactly how much. I've had this product for maybe a month and I had the time today to make a review, so here goes.

I've read so many raves about this foundation and how it really works. I got excited about this when Holly made a review about this. There's really nothing more to say about this product. All the raves and rants were already said. Let the pictures do the talking.

A close-up shot, no make-up, bare face.
Right after applying moisturizer and then PR foundation
+ MAC Viva Glam Gaga, no photo retouch
I also used PR Foundation during my birthday, no photo re-touch whatsoever

I am definitely impressed with the photos right after applying the foundation. That wasn't set yet with powder. Just the PR Foundation and then Lipstick.

I know this is a bit pricey for a drugstore brand but I could use this everyday if the results are this amazing.

MAC: Viva Glam Gaga and Chatterbox Lipsticks

Yes, you saw it right. VIVA GLAM GAGA. I love it. I've been eyeing for it a few months ago. Note that I've never wanted lipsticks until maybe 2 months ago. The blogsphere opened up my eyes to make-up, really. Maybe 5 years back, you would always see me in make up. Even when I'm going to the grocery, I would be fully made up, no doubt. After a few years, I got tired of it, unfortunately. Then, when I started blogging again and following other style and beauty bloggers, I got hooked. Especially on lipsticks.

Here's it is in the flesh:
I really like its consistency. Very pigmented and color really pops. You may choose to swipe once or a couple of times depending on how light or poppy you want it. I'm just disappointed with how much lipstick is in the tube. I want more! Hehe!

Next is Chatterbox. I got this color because of Temptalia's review. I just had to have this. It's more wearable than Viva Glam Gaga. It can stand alone but not too bright but still an attention-grabber. Simply one of my favorite lipsticks.
Now I know why people rave about MAC lipsticks and how they just can't get enough of them. Will definitely buy some more colors or ask my friend from LA to buy some more for me since it's cheaper there (approx $14 and in the Philippines around $20).

Viva Glam Gaga will be available in the Philippines on August 2010.

NYX Diamond Sparkle Lipsticks: Swatches

So I finally gave in to NYX lipsticks. What I can say about these lipsticks is that they really are very pigmented. I haven't really tried them alone because I always pair it up with something else because they really are too sparkly. The glitters are a bit too much for me because it usually goes to my chin of cheeks which is beyond annoying.

These are actually bought from the US and my auntie got them for me. I initially wanted some Round Lipsticks but then she got me these.
Skin swatches L-R: Sparkling Rust, Sparkling Chestnut, Sparkling Red
I love Sparkling Red the most because it's a bright pink color. This one I could use alone actually but the sparkles really hinders me from doing so. It's a nice pop of bright pink.
I'm not really a fan of this color (Sparkling Chestnut) because well it's too brown and it doesn't really do anything for me. You still have to pair it with eye make-up which I rarely do. I usually do cheeks and lips but rarely eye make-up because I have oily lids and I am usually just in school so no need really.
Sparkling Rust is good for a night lip. As you can see, the glitters are already going down my chin which is bad because it's actually hard to take those out.

I like:
  • Highly pigmented
  • Staying power is decent
  • Many color options
I don't like:
  • GLITTER
  • The glitter spreads like wildfire
  • I can't use it alone
So, no, I wouldn't purchase these again. Good thing these are free. Hehe.

Movie Review: Eclipse

I know it's a bit too late for the review, but here it goes.

Yes, I have read all books and I was a fan of all the books. It was an easy read which I prefer compared to too-hard-to-read books. I'm not really a book lover but when it's a love story and an easy read, why not?

I have to say, even if it was cheesy, I liked the first move. The second one, not so much. This thrid installment is the best so far. It's better than the first two movies but on it's own, not the best, really.

I won't say a lot about this because I guess everything has been said already. It's worth buying the DVD but that's it. Graphic-wise, brilliant.

Movie Review: Inception

Let me start by saying that the trailer did justice to the movie. The movie was amazing! I haven't seen anything like it. I really don't want to give spoilers because I know that this is its first weekend here in the Philippines. Anyway, if you're planning to choose either Inception or Sorcerer's Apprentice, I say go for Inception. It is orgasmic. One of the best films I've ever watched. It'll make you think, smile a bit, then think again. It wasn't too hard to comprehend but it still makes you think, which is a big plus for me.

Actually, this movie, is not your typical fictional movie. So, for those that aren't too open minded, maybe you won't enjoy this movie.

Graphics and details are incredible. You can see in the trailer the exceptional graphics in the movie. It will not disappoint.

SPOILER ALERT

Let's go to the cast:
Leonardo Dicaprio from Shutter Island, is again, beyond exceptional. He gave an extraordinary performance and the role was perfect for him.
Joseph Gordon-Levitt from 50 First Dates and Uncertainty was the best dressed character in this film. I love how suave he is and also the implicit humor he gives off.
Ellen Page from the famous Juno was not that impressive.
Ken Watanabe, okay nobody really knows his name but his face is very familiar. He starred in Memoirs of a Geisha as the Chairman. His performance was okay. The only problem is I really didn't understand some parts because of his accent. Too bad.
Cillian Murphy aka The Scarecrow from Batman movies is also in this film. He wasn't a villain, really, as most of his roles would suggest. He's kind of a cutie too. Hehe.
And finally, Marion Cotillard, from A Good Year, Public Enemies and Nine, played Leonardo Dicaprio's wife. She didn't have a big role but her performance was brilliant as always.

Yes, the movie is a bit over the top but definitely worth watching. It's all about dreams and the subconscious. It's about going to dreamland, going to somebody's dream so you could manipulate their dreams and also their subconscious in a way. It's very intriguing because there are so many different twists, risks and adventures.

My favorite part is the ending. It will make you jump out of your seat as everyone in the theater screamed or gasped at the very end. Amazing. I will not tell you what the ending was. Just trust me on this one.

Here's the trailer and the posters:
