I Won Some Dove Mini Soaps!

This is probably the first time I ever won a contest/giveaway online. Won these babies from Chuvaness. This is long overdue since I couldn't find the photos I took. Now that I've recovered the photos, it's time to share it!

These babies are so adorable! I won 16 pieces and they were in this cute clear plastic box. I don't want to use these up so I'm saving them for a rainy day or when I travel and the regular Dove bar is just too big. These are as fragrant, if not more fragrant than the original one. I gave one to my mom when she went out of town. I'm not really sure if these are available in stores/groceries so please do tell in case you spot them!

Katy Perry Videos

I've been a fan of Katy Perry since her first song and it's amazing how she transformed herself but still kept her uniqueness. I got to watch her concert and she's just soo amazing! Would go again if she comes back. I love that she's spontaneous, quirky, flirty and funny! Was going through videos in YT this morning and realized I haven't seen Katy's new videos for Teenage Dream and Firework. I've seen the official lyric video of Teenage Dream but I not the official music video.

Old Navy Flats

Remember my last post when I said that I got 4 pairs but only featured 3? Here's the last pair. They are flats from Old navy. I got them for an incredible price of $9.99 + shipping + tax, etc.

As you can see, it's a bit tight in front. My pinky toe is exposed! The back part is too loose which is weird. The middle part is a perfect fit. These are not as comfy as I thought. The disadvantage of online shopping. But I still love the color and the design.

Forgive my toes, they are badly in need of a pedi.

Attack of the Brown Heels

I recently got my orders from Purse & Co., a multiply site that ships orders from online shopping in the US. I'm really lucky I found them because now, I could finally get shoes and clothes that are not available here. For the first batch, I ordered 4 pairs of shoes (but I'll only be covering 3 for now). These three pair are all brown high heels and wedges. You might ask why I bought shoes that look very similar. You'll know in a bit! I got really excited the first time Lesley texted me that my orders have arrived. The courier she uses is good too. It arrived the next day considering she's not based in Manila.

.

.

On with the shoes..

First up.. the brown wedges from Aldo. I'm a size 10 which is rare here in the Philippines that's why online shopping for shoes is heaven for me.
.

I got to use this already last Saturday when we went to Pampanga for my Lola's birthday. I wore it literally the whole day but didn't walk around much since I was in the car most of the time. The curve in the front makes it a bit hard to walk on ramps but on flat surfaces, it's amazing. It really is sky high even with the platform. It's a bit arched but the straps makes me feel safe that's why I like it so much!

Next one is from Aldo as well. I was looking for clogs but that wouldn't fit me nicely because I have wide feet and that is not sexy. So I looked for the next best thing. I like this because it's a mix of clogs and gladiators. I think that although glads are fading this one is still fashionable and very wearable. I like this with folded jeans and a plain tee and a cute sling or hand bag. Perfect for afternoon strolls. Aldo also included orange laces. YEY! Note that these are a bit slippery so I had to buy Sole Control stickers from Aldo in Rockwell. They're a bit pricey for PHP290-295 but I had to buy it. I'd rather pay 250 than to slip and break my ankle.

For the last one..

This one is from Urbanog. Brand is Qupid and these are very rubbery heels. They're not as leather as the ones from Aldo. This is almost a third of how much Aldo costs so that's probably why. But don't get me wrong, it's sturdy too and lighter than the first one (actually the first one is the heaviest). The enclosure strap near the buckle is broken, both of them, but that's repairable. Can you see the platform? I think it's an inch or more than an inch but it looks bigger. I actually didn't like it at first, was actually gunning for the light brown but they didn't have it in my size so I settled for this one.

It was too late when I realized that everything I ordered was in brown (well, majority of it.. wait for the last pair). Nevertheless, I love all the pairs I got and I can't wait to wear them all!

Thoughts? I am in love!

Shoes from Cotton On

Boyfriend was in SG just recently and bought me lots of stuff and this is one of those. He Got me peep-toe flats in gold and also white flats. These are super comfy, not much sole though but that's alright. This is great for everyday use, even in the office. Actually, when I used this in Macau, so many girls actually looked at my feet. Hope that's a good thing. It's really shiny and it stands out! I love it!

Size 41 for my big feet

Because Bon Chon Chicken is Freakin' Awesome

Bloggers who are familiar with Bon Chon has been blogging and tweeting non-stop about Bon Chon, a sort-of fast food restaurant that specializes in their double fried chicken. Since I'm near the area and a big fan of chicken, why not give it a try?

Attempt 1: Friday, lunch time. Went with an office mate to try it out unfortunately, the line was too long and it was hot so fail.

Attempt 2: Same day, different time. Boyfriend went to Makati after work, around 3PM because I really wanted to go there and try their chicken. (Trivia: Boyfriend and I are chicken lovers. When we eat out, we always order chicken, no rice. NOT KIDDING. Protein overload and we love it! One of the reasons why I think we're really meant for each other. Hihi.)

Here's their menu - quite affordable.
We got a table, without even waiting. Some seats were unoccupied so we easily got the best seat. After ordering at the cashier and getting our number (yep, just like a fast-food resto), we only waited for 10-15 minutes and hello chicken!

My sister-in-law actually got to eat there a day before and she told me that they had to wait 40 minutes for their chicken. My guess was they didn't anticipate the customers and had a hard time getting the food out. She was there around 1:30, probably there were still a lot of people.

Anyway, we got medium orders. He got drumsticks with hot and spicy flavor and I got the chicken combo with soy garlic flavor. Both are delicious though the spicy flavor stays in your mouth but (thank God) doesn't have a hot sauce flavor. We don't really order rice so we just compensate for more chicken!

After an hour or more...

Yum yum yum! Nom nom nom! Hands down the best chicken I've ever tasted. Flavor is not too overpowering which means there's no umay factor. If you want to really enjoy this, go for the soy garlic but you're a spicy eater, hot and spicy is also great!

The soy garlic is a bit sweet but not too weird for chicken flavoring. Portions are okay, not too big but they actually serve you a lot so that's alright. Their hot and spicy flavor is not like other fast-food restaurants where they just sprinkle the spicy powder on top and when you eat the inner part, just regular chicken. Every bite is insane.

Here I am, happy, full and contented. :))

Actually, there's still an Attempt 3!

Attempt 3: Since my sister-in-law and I can't stop talking about it, my brother got intrigued and wanted to buy some for dinner. We got there around 8PM and obviously, since it's dinner time, it was packed once again. We decided to just buy and take it home. Surprisingly, when we got home, the chicken was still crispy and it's true what they say... it's friend but not greasy (unlike the double down).

If I were you, I'd storm Ayala Triangle Gardens and buy some Bon Chon chicken. In a perfect world, I'd probably eat lots of Bon Chon chicken, barf because I ate too much (not because I'm on a diet), rest and eat again! HAHA. Seriously, now I know why they love this! It's freakin' yummy!

LBD-ish

It's called LBD-ish for a reason. First, it's not your typical LBD because it's not as stylish as other elegant LBDs. However, this is the LBD you can practically wear anywhere and anytime! You can definitely dress it up and down. Versatile.

What is it? It's a gift from the boyfriend from Old Navy. It's, well, "made to last"! It's basically an undergarment made into a dress. What's nice about this one is, if you have a perfect body, UNlike me, you can wear this by itself but since the bulges are still here and won't go away, cover-ups are my new BFFs.

Boyfie bought it in black and gray but I still haven't experimented with the gray one. Here's the picture of my not-so-typical LBD.

The arm hole is also an issue. Size is perfect on me but the armhole is big so there really is a need for a cover-up!

Anyway, I got to play around with it and here's the result:

Jacket: Burberry
Shoes: Rubi from Cotton On
Pearl Earrings
Please pardon the taray face.

Shirt: Marks & Spencer
Shoes: Rubi from Cotton On
Teal shirt: Greenhills

I got the dresses a day before going to Macau so I had it washed and wore it immediately! Flights are normally uncomfortable so I opted to wear it with other comfy clothes. I paired it with black leggings and a white jacket because it was getting cold and the gold flats from Cotton On.
What do you think? Which one is your favorite? Do tell!

What's In My Closet?

Last week, I was looking through my closet, trying to find a dress I could wear to a wedding next month. It's going to be mid December and I still have nothing to wear. Anyway, I saw this dress and realized that I actually just wore it once.

I wanted to try it on again to see how it fits now that I lost 8 lbs. HAHA. And here's the result!

Dress from Topshop

Wasn't able to wear it with shoes because I was in a hurry. Although I haven't found a dress for the wedding yet, I got to revive this dress. I love it, especially the print and the back!

What do you think? You think I could pull this off? :)
