OOTD: Army and Silk

Today was quite a chill day for me since I didn't have to do anything except spend some time with the family and the boyfriend. Early morning my bro, sis-in-law and boyfriend went to IMAX to watch the last installment of Harry Potter. It was pretty awesome. Everything except the ending. It was.. let's say normal? Well, it is an ending but I kind of expected more. The twists are great but the finality of it is quite usual.

That's just me. I write reviews but I'm no expert though the graphics and the drama is superb. Sometimes, I think that this is such a feel good movie. It makes me happy but not enough to make me cry. For me the best is Book 7 Part 1 and of course Book 1 and my least favorite is Book 6. Dumbeldore died but it was all talk, no action.

After that, I just stayed home and rested and then went to Burgos Circle in Taguig to celebrate my brother's birthday. Silly me, I forgot to bring my camera. :(

Anywayyy, on to my outfit

Another fail photo, LOL.
Top from the Marks & Spencer sale - Shorts from Forever21 - Shoes from Topshop -
Accessories from Charriol and Kenneth Cole
Love the details of this polo.

One single flap on top of your shoulders could make an outfit very army-ish, no?

It also has pockets. Sneaky!
I've been into semi-oversized shirts because of the weather and because I really want to wear comfy clothes primarily because of work. The fabric is silky, very smooth and not too thick so I could wear it during the day or night. It also has gold details which means I could accessorize with fold jewelry and because it's navy blue, silver jewelry is okay too.

Bracelet: Charriol - Watch: Kenneth Cole - Chinese bracelet (I think this is Garnet? - bought from a friend)

And of course, my favorite shoes at the moment, my black flatforms from Topshop.

That's it! How was your weekend?

Topshop Sale Haul

Who doesn't love Topshop? I think their clothes are very up-to-date. Their shoes are TDF. The accessories are cute but I think it's a bit too expensive, no? So when they declare a sale, I make sure I visit a few of their branches because that's the only time I let myself buy clothes from Topshop. Trying to be frugal, yes.

I just blogged about my recent purchase from Topshop in Rockwell and now, I'll share with you guys what I got from Topshop Greenbelt.

I got this loose top  for PHP2895 less 50% = PHP1447.50. Not bad.

I love this top because it's okay to wear in the office but also okay to wear outside the office. Maybe change my shoes and bag and I'm set! I also love the embroidered detail. It looks well made and no chipping. It's simple and classy.

Next is a really great buy for me because it's 50% off, fashionable and wearable.

Remember the YSL Arty Ring? I seriously want this ring but it's like more than PHP10K. No way I could afford that. This Topshop ring definitely reminds me of the Arty Ring in Fuchsia. It doesn't have the extended part but pwede na rin. Haha!

Next one is sooo cute I could not not buy it, also 50% off.
Owls. Am I too late? LOL.

This dangling owl earrings is quite long but not super fancy. It's cute to brighten an outfit, but definitely for weekends only. Haha.

Both are 50% off - from PHP645 to PHP322.5 each. Not bad!

So what did you guys get during this sale season? By the way, it's part of the Grand Makati Sale which is patterned from the Great Singapore Sale or Hong Kong Sale. This is the first time and from what I've read, this will be an annual event. So mark your calendars: July = sale month!

Because I Love Flatforms

Yesterday, I was hoping to score a lot of stuff from the sale (end of season sale everywhere!). I went to Rockwell yesterday and Greenbelt today. The only place I haven't been yet is Glorietta. Those are the three places I frequent to shop. I wanted to roam around Mall of Asia this morning but I was too lazy. Anyway, I watched Transformers 3 in Rockwell yesterday and this morning on IMAX. I must say, the 3D version is superb. I recommend everyone to watch Transformers and soon Harry Potter on IMAX. 3D in cinemas usually makes my head after but with IMAX, I never get headaches (proven it twice already).

Anyway, on to the shoes..

Java Black Suede Wedges
I got these shoes from the Topshop sale. I really don't know how much the original price was but it's around 4K and I got this for 3K+. I guess it wasn't on their 50% off deals. I saved around 1K or 1,500. I know, still expensive but it's what I really like and now I found it.

I know some people don't like flatforms because they're unflattering and they look hard to walk on but it's completely the opposite for me. I love big chunky heels and this is as chunky as it gets. I also love that it's flat so it's easy to walk on. I used this yesterday and today and it didn't hurt much. I could walk on these for hours. Plus, there is really no arch so it's like walking on flats but you're taller than everyone. Haha!

It's around 2 inches platform and another .5 inch for the heel.

If they have this in another color, I would surely buy.

Update: These are originally $130 in Topshop's online store. That's around 130x43.5=5655 and I got it for only 3500ish. Not bad! Plus, there's a color where the top part is red and the wedge is cork-ish. Wish it was solid red. Hehe! :)

What's In My Closet?

Last week, I was looking through my closet, trying to find a dress I could wear to a wedding next month. It's going to be mid December and I still have nothing to wear. Anyway, I saw this dress and realized that I actually just wore it once.

I wanted to try it on again to see how it fits now that I lost 8 lbs. HAHA. And here's the result!

Dress from Topshop

Wasn't able to wear it with shoes because I was in a hurry. Although I haven't found a dress for the wedding yet, I got to revive this dress. I love it, especially the print and the back!

What do you think? You think I could pull this off? :)
